A private-label gaming headset with a charging dock should be developed as one retail system rather than as three disconnected items: headset, dock and box. The visible color hierarchy, brand application and opening sequence all influence whether the buyer receives a coherent premium product or a collection of individually acceptable parts. The G946 project used a staged workflow to connect product CMF decisions with packaging engineering.
The first gate is color ownership. The approved PMS 7679 C direction applies to selected metallic components, while designated parts remain black. This preserves contrast and prevents the purple treatment from overwhelming the structure. A digital hex reference is useful for screen communication, but it is not a production color standard. Buyers should approve physical CMF samples under controlled lighting and confirm which substrate, finish and manufacturing process each color applies to.
The second gate is brand separation. In this project, the white silk-screen logo is deliberately non-illuminated, while the perimeter RGB remains a separate product feature. That distinction matters for tooling, printing, lighting control and quality inspection. A production specification should record logo artwork, size, color, print process, opacity, alignment and rotation. Without these controls, a visually small placement drift can become obvious on a symmetrical earcup.
The third gate is packaging fit. A docked headset creates a larger and more complex retail footprint than a headset alone. The internal blister must support the headset and dock without creating pressure on the ear cushions, boom microphone or decorative surfaces. Accessories also need a fixed location so they do not move during handling. The approved Option 2 direction therefore combines a black internal blister with a dedicated accessory compartment and a box sized at 241 x 152 x 271mm.
The final gate is the opening and carrying experience. The customer wanted a premium reference point for how the package opens, but the structure still had to be adapted to the actual G946 geometry. The 25mm woven-fabric loop, extending 45mm above the box, adds a retail handling feature that must be checked for attachment strength, visual alignment and clearance. Before release, the buyer and supplier should review a combined checklist covering CMF sample approval, logo placement, RGB appearance, blister fit, accessory retention, box dimensions, handle position, print artwork and physical package assembly.
